Public meeting 25/02/20

We held our second public meeting at the United Reform Church and had another successful and fruitful evening. As we anticipated a decent turnout we ran two sessions.

This was very much a “meet and greet” and it was very useful for our the team to spend some time chatting to local residents and club members ( over a nice cuppa and a Ginger Nut or two).

The layout of the URC allowed us to display a lot of the latest campaign information, and we were able to screen our excellent campaign video for people not on the internet (watch here). We also had a variety of campaign publicity materials for people to take away. A video booth was available for anyone who wished to record their opinions on the situation or share a treasured memory of the Hamptons

After a cuppa , we moved into the main church for two presentations.

Mike Parker welcomed the audience and thanked everyone for coming (despite the sleet and rain). He went on to update everyone on developments regarding the new owners, campaign news and some issues raised at our previous meeting. Mike reinforced the need for the community to get involved, and explained how everyone could help.

Our second speaker was Terry Spencer who gave a presentation on planning issues, the planning process and legal covenants. We were pleased that there were a lot of questions from the floor. Discussion and dialogue are key to this campaign.

Can we say a huge thank you to everyone that attended and to our team of volunteers, who made it such a successful evening.
