Dragging Hamptons Name Through The Mud

Pretty much since day one, the owners of Hamptons, the Chelmsford Muslim Society, have embarked on a calamitous campaign of PR disasters linked to the club.

Having forced out nearly all of the leisure uses, closing the bars and wrecking the function hire side of the business, CMS then began the gradual conversion of the venue to become a huge mosque.

A venue that once boasted a large multicultural membership, and offered a wide variety of sports and leisure uses for the whole community, is now principally a mosque, offering activities solely for the Muslim community, and directly discriminating against the non Muslim locals.

Despite the claims by chief mouthpiece Ayman Syed, an email to a local resident surfaced, explaining why the bars were closing:

“For Muslims alcohol is something we find difficult to compromise on and no matter how I've tried to look at the situation from a religious aspect we cannot do it. We recognise the detriment it might have on revenue but we are also determined in our resolve to make the centre a success. We have debts to pay and want the centre to succeed”.

And what kind of health and fitness centre, kicks out a regular booking for kids football coaching, so the hall can be used for religious education ?

What kind of health and fitness centre constantly cancels one it’s longest standing bookings, if they get a booking that pays more money ?

What kind of health and fitness centre leaves it’s biggest and most successful section, to turn to a charity to help refurbish the tennis court lighting, at a time when the owners got a £96,000 business rates rebate.

And what kind of charity tolerates an assault on a junior member of staff, by a Hamptons Director, and allows that person to remain in post.

So many to choose from here:

• The hijacking of public funds to run a half term faith school

• Anti LGBT/RSE seminars hosted by the horribly homophobic Head Imam

• Pro Palestine events, showing anti-semitic films

• “Community” events that are fully sex segregated

Is anti-semitism and homophobia acceptable at “ a sports and community centre with prayer space”, and do we live in a segregated society ? Answers on a postcard please.

We are aware that funeral rites, including body preparation have taken place at Hamptons. We constantly receive reports from local residents woken by the night time activity, and the use of Hamptons for body preparation has been confirmed by our sources within the Muslim Community.

What are our local council doing about the night time activity, nothing ? Even when reported, with photo and video evidence, they are too weak and woke to act !

Have some respect for your neighbours !

Again, where do we begin ? Here’s a summary:

• Constantly lied to the council and residents, about the plans for Hamptons

• Played the race card at every opportunity

• Used their mates the Lib Dems as a shield.

• Created night time noise and disturbance from 2.30am -11.30pm throughout the year

• Anti social parking on the Clarion Gate estate, and in local roads.

• Using the grass verges by the tennis courts for parking, causing additional disturbance.

• Aggression from worshippers towards residents who dared to speak up

• Marshalls obstructing the public highway

• Blasting out the call to prayer at 8am on a Sunday, during Eid (video below)

• An incident involving a worshipper colliding with a residential property, and then making off

• An second incident involving the Hampton’s Mosque community transport, crashing into a fence and shrubbery, and then making off (video here)

The sad truth is that some (not all) members of the Hamptons Moque, behave like they own the entire estate, including the access roads and green spaces. The racism and bullying that residents have encountered is staggering, especially worrying when it’s directed at female residents.

How different the Hamptons Mosque is to the Parkway Mosque, who worship quietly and with dignity, and who are welcoming and friendly. It’s no wonder that many worshippers prefer to use that facility rather than Hamptons.

Is it any wonder, that local residents don’t want to spend their hard earned cash at Hamptons. This isn’t Islamophobia or racism, just the simple principle of “you reap what you sow”.

Residents no longer give Hamptons “the benefit of the doubt” , and it’s pretty clear that things will only get worse, year on year:
