A Short Memory

We couldn’t quite believe this post on the Hamptons Sports and Leisure Ltd Facebook page this week.

You seem to have left a few bits out chaps, since February you have:

• Closed and ripped out the bars.

• Thrown out the Buddhist meditation classes and Roamers Caterers.

• Forced the Marconi Veterans Association to find a new venue.

• Ruined the clubs core business.

• Cancelled functions.

• Failed to deliver on promises of a new cafe and fitness classes.

• Made the two longest serving staff redundant.

• Committed a breach of planning control every week since 31/07/20

• Committed breaches of Covid 19 guidelines.

• Caused alarm and distress to local residents.

• Not submitted a planning application for a place of worship

Of course, we should mention the much celebrated Food Bank, which appears to have closed a week after it opened. Food Banks do have exemption to remain open during lockdown. Perhaps the real reason for it’s closure is contained in this social media response, Hardly the actions of a “Fantastic facility and now being put to use superbly as an inclusive community hub”.
